Here I am crouching before the crawl, and a friend entering.

Through the short crawl and you're at the bottom of a passage which curves around to the right and then goes up. From the top, it looks most forbidding, peering into the seemingly bottomless pit. Approaching it as we did, from the bottom, it appears quite inviting.
